  • 1 cda de jugo de limón fresco
  • 1/2 cdita de canela en polvo
  • 1 pizca de sal
  • 1/2 cdita de esencia de vainilla (opcional)
  • 1 cdita de semillas de chía o linaza (opcional)

Date jam is a natural, dense and deeply aromatic preparation with a natural sweetness without the need for refined sugars.

Like a typical jam, it's mainly eaten at breakfast and as a snack, accompanying bread, yogurt, cheese, or even as a filling for desserts. It's also ideal if you're looking for vegan or sugar-free options.

Tips for making an irresistible date jam

  • Use Medjool dates for a more caramelized flavor and smooth texture.
  • If you want a sophisticated touch, add orange zest or fresh ginger.
  • Avoid adding sugar; dates are already naturally sweet.
  • Control the amount of water to achieve the desired consistency.
  • Stir constantly during cooking to prevent burning.
  • Add a pinch of salt to enhance the natural sweetness.
  • You can substitute orange juice for the water for a more citrusy profile.
  • If you're looking for a more rustic texture, partially crush it.
  • Combine with crushed nuts for a more nutritious version.
