The best wine taverns in Gumpoldskirchen

distance

Slow food and organic produce, local herbs and fresh vegetables: Johanna Gebeshuber's restaurant, with its rustic rooms and picturesque courtyard, offers cuisine that goes far beyond classic Viennese tavern fare. On the menu: elegant, sophisticated wines.

The house on the church square is one of the oldest properties in Gumpoldskirchen to have retained its original architectural style. The historic ambiance is perfectly complemented by wines like "Temptation" and the many delicious culinary delights on offer. A beautiful location for celebrations!

It all started with half a hectare of vineyards and bottles with a smiley face. Anna Gerland and Zane Berger's wine tavern is anything but conventional. It's open six times a year, offering natural wines and excellent food, including plenty of vegan options.

Hannes Hofer enjoys introducing the region's traditional white wines to many cyclists and hikers who stop here. The small garden is just as inviting as the cool stone walls and the classically run buffet of this traditional establishment.

The imposing wooden wine press speaks of the town's winemaking tradition, while Christian "Che" Schabl presents its modern face. A variety of specialties will be poured alongside traditional fare at the buffet. Be quick, though, as the supply of Red Muscat is limited!

With Zierfandler and Rotgipfler, they focus on the cornerstones of Gumpoldskirchen's winemaking, but they also don't neglect white and red varietal wines. Traditional Heurigen fare, such as pork knuckle, tastes delicious in the cozy restaurant or the pretty garden.

Traditional Viennese wine tavern fare – from crispy roast pork with caraway seeds to seasonal dishes and lunch menus – meets award-winning wines in the heart of Gumpoldskirchen. Siblings Birgit and Christoph Grill ensure a welcoming atmosphere in their wine restaurant and blooming courtyard.

Rotgipfler and Zierfandler are staples, but the focus is also on many exceptional offerings, such as high-quality spirits, wine vinegar, and Gumpoldskirchen wine pralines. Guests can enjoy cold and warm delicacies in the beautiful garden. Brunch is also very popular.
