Halloween pumpkin caramel lollipops

8 pers.

Ingredients · Servings 8
  • 8 pieces Pumpkin
  • 200 g Caramel mou
  • 8 pieces of wooden toothpick-type picks
  • 1 sheet of baking paper
Method · 20 min
  1. Line a large plate, tray, or board with parchment paper to create a clean surface for the coated lollipops. Unwrap the soft caramels and keep them within easy reach. Also, prepare the wooden skewers. If necessary, quickly rinse the small pumpkins, then dry them thoroughly with a clean cloth so the caramel adheres properly.
  2. Check that your 8 pumpkins are completely dry, stable, and suitable for individual presentation. If any show signs of moisture, carefully wipe them dry again. Gently insert a wooden skewer into each pumpkin, pushing it in far enough so it holds securely but doesn't go all the way through. Proceed slowly to avoid splitting the flesh or damaging the shape of the pumpkin.
  3. Place the soft caramels in a microwave-safe bowl or a small saucepan if you prefer a gentler melting process. Heat them very gradually, in short bursts or over very low heat, until they reach a smooth, pliable, and easily spreadable consistency. Stir regularly to ensure even distribution and prevent the caramel from overheating or sticking to the bottom.
  4. Take each pumpkin by its wooden skewer, then coat it with the still-warm soft caramel. You can pour the caramel with a spoon or gently rotate the pumpkin to evenly distribute the coating over the top or the desired area. Work fairly quickly, as the caramel thickens as it cools. Aim for an even layer for a neater and more appealing finish.
  5. Place the caramel pumpkin lollipops on the prepared baking paper, spacing them slightly apart to prevent them from touching. If necessary, adjust the shape of the caramel with the back of a small spoon before it sets. Then let the lollipops rest at room temperature so the coating sets and becomes less sticky before serving.
  6. Once the caramel has set completely on the surface, check that each lollipop is easy to handle by its stick. If any caramel has dripped onto the parchment paper, gently peel back the edges to maintain a clean presentation. Then arrange the lollipops on a serving platter. Serve them for a Halloween treat, making sure to offer them quickly to keep the caramel soft.
