  • 6 tbsp. Brown or Wash Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 6 sm. Saba (Plantain) (sliced)
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 6 tbsp. Brown or Wash Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 2 tbsp. Buko Pandan Gulaman Powder
  • 4 tbsp. White Sugar
  • 3 cups Water
Method · 1 h 30 min
  1. Peel the sweet potatoes, then rinse them thoroughly under running water. Cut into small, even-sized cubes.
  2. Transfer the sweet potato cubes into a small pot and pour in enough water to cover them.
  3. Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook for 6 to 8 minutes, or until they begin to soften.
  4. Add brown sugar (or washed sugar) and stir well until fully dissolved.
  5. Lower the heat and let it simmer until the sweet potatoes are tender.
  6. Turn off the heat. Add vanilla extract and stir to combine.
  7. Set aside and allow to cool completely before serving or using in other recipes.
