Nothing beats a grilled Caesar salad with prosciutto cooked on the barbecue for reinventing a classic with a summery twist! Two hearts of romaine lettuce, with their delicate smoky flavor, and perfectly crisp prosciutto slices form the base of this reimagined dish. A lightly toasted baguette adds the perfect crunchy texture. Add cucumber slices for freshness, the famous creamy Caesar dressing to bring everything together, and you have a barbecue recipe that's as simple as it is sophisticated, perfect for casual dinners or for impressing your guests.

Also plan

30 ml (2 tbsp) of olive oil

10 ml (2 tsp) chopped garlic

Steps

1. Preheat the barbecue to medium-high power (approximately 220°C – 425°F).

Cut the lettuce hearts in half lengthwise. Cut the baguette into twelve equal cubes.

In a bowl, mix the oil with the garlic.

Thread the bread cubes and prosciutto slices onto four skewers, alternating them. Brush the skewers with flavored oil.

Place the skewers on the hot, oiled grill of the barbecue. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, turning them several times during cooking.

Place the lettuce hearts on the hot, oiled grill, then grill them for 1 to 2 minutes on each side.

When ready to serve, unmold the skewers. Fill the lettuce hearts with cucumber, bread cubes, and prosciutto. Drizzle with vinaigrette.
